The 6000W1000 from AR RF/Microwave Instrumentation is a Solid-State Power Amplifier that operates from 80 to 1000 MHz. This self-contained, air-cooled amplifier, when used with an RF sweep generator, provides more than 6000 watts of power with a gain of over 67.8 dB. It has a Digital Control Panel (DCP) from where the gain and power level can be controlled. The DCP uses a color LCD touch screen display to indicate the operating status and fault conditions if an over-temperature or power supply fault has occurred.
The 6000W1000 features a gain controller and an internal automatic level controller (ALC) circuit and the protection is provided by DC level sensing for all output stages. All amplifier control functions and status indications can also be viewed/controlled remotely using the GPIB/IEEE-488 format, RS-232, fiber optics, USB, and Ethernet. The bus interface connector is located on the back panel and positive control of the local or remote operation is assured by a local/remote switch on the front panel of the amplifier. The safety interlock circuit along with the remote switch prevents the amplifier from going into operating mode unless the external connection is made. A jumper plug is provided for cases where this functionality is not needed. Optional RF sample ports are available to allow for any forward and reverse power monitoring.
This amplifier has been designed for applications where instantaneous bandwidth, high gain, and linearity are required. Typical applications include RF susceptibility testing, antenna and component testing, watt meter calibration, and as a driver for frequency multipliers and higher power amplifiers.
The 6000W1000 is available in a single equipment rack that measures 170 x 183 x 99 cm with an N-type female connector at the input and a type 3-1/8 EIA female connector at the output.
