The BVA2761 from Berex is a Digital Variable Gain Amplifier (DVGA) that operates from 50 to 6000 MHz. It integrates a high-performance 7-bit digital step attenuator (DSA) and two high linearities, broadband gain block amplifiers. The gain block amplifiers provide a gain of 34.8 dB with a noise figure of 1.5 dB (at 3500 MHz) and the DSA provides an attenuation range of 31.75 dB in 0.25 steps. The DSA provides safe attenuation state transitions and has a switching time of less than 800 ns. Both DSA and gain block amplifiers are internally matched to 50 ohms which makes them easy to use with minimum external matching components required.
The BVA2761 requires a DC supply of 3.3/5 V and consumes less than 166 mA of current. It is available in a 32-lead surface-mount QFN package that measures 5 x 5 mm and is suitable for use in wireless infrastructure, point-to-point, or any general-purpose wireless application.
