The VSC3644 from CPI is a GaN Solid State Power Amplifier Module that operates from 5.2 to 5.9 GHz in the C-band. This air-cooled amplifier delivers a saturated peak output pulsed power of more than 1.1 kW (1 to 100 µsec, 10% duty cycle) with a gain of 46 dB and an efficiency of 24%. It is available in a rack mount unit that measures 1.97 x 9.3 x 18 inches with a BMA male connector at the input and N-jack connector at the output.

The VSC3644 is designed for use in maritime surveillance, C-band radar systems, and weather radar transmitters. These 1.1 kW bricks can be combined using waveguide combiners to achieve the power levels required for various radars.
