The dB-3861 from dB Control is a Ka-band TWT amplifier that operates from 32 to 36 GHz. The amplifier uses a periodic permanent magnet (PPM) for power amplification. It provides a peak output power of 400 W with a gain of over 56 dB. The unit has a pulse width from 0.2 to 50 µsec, a duty cycle of up to 25%, and a maximum PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) of 300 kHz. This TWT amplifier requires an AC power supply from 115-200 V which uses proprietary low-noise, and high-efficiency designs to operate the RF signal path. It supports Ethernet, RS-485, RS-422, and RS-232 serial interfaces.
The dB-3861 is available as a 19-inch rackmount unit that measures 24.5 x 19 x 7 inches with WR-28 waveguide flanges at the input and output. The amplifier is suitable for use in radars, test, and measurement, antenna pattern & radar cross-section measurements, and Electronic warfare (EW) simulation applications.
