The TMC261 from mmTron is a Power Amplifier MMIC that operates from 17.3 to 21.2 GHz. It provides an output P1dB of 1.1 W (~31 dBm) with a gain of 24 dB and has a power-added efficiency (PAE) of 35%. This amplifier is manufactured using a high-reliability GaN HEMT process and has been designed to provide optimal output power, efficiency, and linearity. It requires a DC supply of 18 V, consumes 74 mA of current, and can further increase the drain bias to 24 V to deliver an output power of up to 2 W while maintaining good efficiency and NPR. This GaN amplifier is available as a bare die that measures 3.5 x 2.5 mm or in an air-cavity QFN package that measures 6 x 6 mm. It is ideal for K-band satellite downlink and LEO satellite applications.
