The Model A2100 from Teledyne is a compact outdoor solid state power amplifier (SSPA) that operates from 29 GHz to 31 GHz (with custom frequency sub-bands options). This SSPA can generate power levels that exceed those of traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) commonly used at gateway earth stations today. It has an integrated forced-air cooling system built for extreme environmental conditions and high reliability operation. It provides saturated power of 100 W, linear power of 50 W and a gain from 55 to 75 dB. The amplifier is available in a small footprint that weighs less than 44 lbs (20 kg) and can be used in applications and markets that have historically been reserved for traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs).
