The NW-PA-11B02A-TAC from NuWaves is an S-Band GaN Miniature Multi-Octave Power Amplifier that operates from 200 to 2600 MHz. It provides a saturated CW output power of 10 W with a small signal gain of more than 43 dB and an efficiency of 20-40 %. This amplifier requires a supply voltage of 11 to 32 VDC and consumes 1.4 A of current.
The amplifier has an LED temperature monitor indicator, locking RF enable switch, and RF ports intentionally designed to make it impossible for an operator to reverse polarity in the field. It also has overvoltage and reverse-voltage protection. The rugged IP67-rated chassis, with integrated heat sink, allows the system integrator or operator to easily incorporate the unit into a platform operating in harsh environments with limited space, such as a tactical vehicle or manpack.
The amplifier is available in a rugged module that measures 4.50 x 3.50 x 1.50 inches with a TNC female connector at the input port and N-type female connector at the output port. This PA is ideal for man-portable tactical radios, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), Group 2 & 3, unmanned ground vehicles (UGV), broadband RF telemetry, RF communication systems, software defined radios, and test labs applications.
