The QPB2731N from Qorvo is a Ka-Band GaN Amplifier that operates from 27 to 31 GHz. It delivers a saturated output power of 52.6 dBm (180 W) with a power gain of 13.6 dB and power added efficiency of 23.8%. This amplifier is based on Qorvo’s patented and field-proven Spatium combining technology that provides unprecedented Solid-State Power Amplifier (SSPA) performance in a rugged, compact, and lightweight package. It requires a DC supply of 22 V and consumes 36 A of current.
The QPB2731N has an integrated bias card, which allows for the convenience of operation, reducing electrical losses in the bias networks, and weight reduction over using a separate bias card. The bias card also provides individualized bias settings for each amplifier blade in the Spatium SSPA. It is available in a package that measures 82.6 x 73.9 x 98.0 mm and is ideal for SATCOM BUCs, millimeter-wave subsystems, and TWTA replacement applications.
