The RRT901005K0-57 from RFHIC is an X-Band Transmitter that operates from 9 to 10 GHz. It delivers a pulsed output power of more than 5 kW with a gain of 57 dB. The amplifier has a duty cycle of up to 10%, a pulse width range from 1 to 100 us and a rise/fall time of less than 100 ns. It has a VSWR of under 2:1. The transmitter uses high efficiency GaN transistors to replace industrial magnetrons and other vacuum tubes that are currently used in high power applications. It can handle up to +12 dBm of input power while operating on a DC supply voltage of 50 V.
The RRT901005K0-57 includes several protection and warning alarms such as over VSWR shutdown, DC fail alarm, over pulse duty cycle, etc. and has an RS422 control interface. It is available in a 19”, 6U rack mount chassis that measures 537.5 x 482.6 x 266.0 mm with an SMA-female input connector and a WR-90 waveguide output. The transmitter has forced air cooling system and is suitable for use in maritime, surveillance and weather radar transmitter applications.
