The BD170240N50100AHF from Anaren is a Sub-miniature Unbalanced to Balanced Balun/Transformer that operates from 17 to 23.6 GHz. It is designed for differential inputs and output locations on modern chipsets in an easy to use surface mount package. The low-profile balun has an unbalanced port impedance of 50 ? and a balanced port impedance of 100 ?. This transformation enables single-ended signals to be applied to differential ports on modern integrated chipsets. The output ports have an equal amplitude (-3dB) with a 180-degree phase difference. It delivers better performance than traditional ceramic baluns and is ideal for point-to-point radios and wideband GaN.

The BD170240N50100AHF can handle 1 W of power at @85°C and has an insertion loss of less than 1.7 dB. It has an amplitude balance of less than 1.6 dB and a phase balance of under 27°. This halogen-free balun RohS balun is available in a tape & reel/surface-mount package and is ideal for point-to-point radio and wideband GaN applications.
