The PE45361 from Peregrine is a high power UltraCMOS limiter that operates from 10 MHz to 6 GHz. It can handle up to 100 watts of power and has a fast response time of 1 ns. Unlike traditional PIN diode solutions, this limiter achieves an adjustable input 1 dB compression point via a low current voltage, eliminating the need for external bias components. It has a low insertion loss and high linearity under non-limiting power levels. It also has excellent ESD rating and protection. This limiter is ideal for use in test and measurement equipment, wireless infrastructure transceivers and antennas. It is available in a 12 lead QFN package that measures 3 x 3 mm. This limiter has been developed on Peregrine's UltraCMOS process which is a patented variation of silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology on a sapphire substrate, offering the performance of GaAs with the economy and integration of conventional CMOS.
