The SKY16603-632LF from Skyworks is a Dual PIN Diode Limiter that operates from 0.6 to 6 GHz. It consists of dual PIN limiter diodes and two DC blocking capacitors at the RF ports. This high linearity, low-threshold, dual PIN limiter diode module addresses the growing need for receiver protection in cellular infrastructure (including 5G) and microwave radio communications.
The limiter can handle up to 35 dBm of input power and has a typical flat leakage power of 5.5 dBm. It has an insertion loss of less than 0.5 dB and a recovery time of 1 ns. The limiter is available in a DFN surface mount package that measures 2.3 x 2.3 mm. It can be used for a wide range of applications including cellular infrastructure base stations, repeaters, and wireless backhaul OEMs. It can also be used in broad market wireless systems including VSAT, S-band radar, military communications transceivers, jammers, GPS, test instruments, automotive, and Wi-Fi applications.
