The LTC5548 from Analog Devices is a double balanced passive mixer that can be used for upconversion and downconversion. The mixer has a differential IF port from DC to 6 GHz, with a recommended IF frequency of below 500 MHz since it includes an integrated IF Balun. The RF Balun are optimized for a frequency range from 2 to 14 GHz. The device includes an integrated LO amplifier and a LO frequency doubler, which can be enabled or disabled with a CMOS-compatible control pin. The LTC5548 delivers a high IIP3 of up to 24.4 dBm, a P1dB of 15.2 dBm and a very low LO to RF leakage of under 30 dBm. The mixer requires a supply voltage of 3.3 V and consumes 120 mA of current. It is available in a 2-Lead QFN Package that measures 3 x 2 mm and is ideal for microwave tranceivers, wireless backhaul and phased array antennas.
