The FMMX9000 from Fairview Microwave is an I/Q Double-Balanced Mixer with an RF frequency range from 4 to 8.5 GHz and an IF frequency range from DC to 3.5 GHz. It has a low conversion loss of 7.5 dB, LO to RF isolation of 40 dB, and LO to IF isolation of 20 dB. The mixer can handle up to 20 dBm of input power and has a high image rejection of over 35 dB. It has an amplitude balance of 0.3 dB and phase balance of 8 degrees.
This I/Q mixer utilizes GaAs MESFET MMIC technology that offers high linearity with reliable and consistent performance. The design of the mixer incorporates 2 double balanced mixer cells and a 90-degree hybrid that can operate as a single-sideband upconverter, or an image reject mixer (IRM). For downconversion applications, an external quadrature IF hybrid can be used to select the desired sideband while rejecting image signals.
The FMMX9000 is available in a hermetically sealed package that measures 22.61 x 17.27 x 9.14 mm with field-replaceable SMA connectors and is ideal for EW, point-to-point radios, point-to-multipoint radios, VSAT, radar, space systems, test instrumentation, sensors, telecom infrastructure, and military applications.
