The SMIQ-6243H+ from Mini Circuits is a Passive I/Q Mixer MMIC with an RF-LO frequency from 6 to 24 GHz and an IF frequency from DC to 6 GHz. This mixer has a conversion loss of less than 11.6 dB and provides 30 dBc of image rejection. It is fabricated using GaAs HBT technology and has been designed to serve as a single-sideband (SSB) up-converter for transmit applications or an image rejection mixer for receiver applications. The mixer provides an LO-RF isolation of 37 dB, LO-I isolation of 31 dB, LO-Q isolation of 33 dB, RF-I isolation of 40 dB, and RF-Q isolation of 43 dB. The high isolation minimizes filtering requirements to ensure signal integrity. It requires no DC bias is needed for operation.
The SMIQ-6243H+ has a miniature footprint that saves space in dense layouts while providing low inductance, repeatable transitions, and excellent thermal contact to the PCB. It is available in a surface-mount package that measures 4 x 4 mm and is ideal for 5G mmWave, backhaul radio, test and measurement equipment, satellite communications, EW, ECM defense systems, and radar applications.
