The ADRF5716 from Analog Devices is a 2-bit Silicon Digital Attenuator that operates from 100 MHz to 30 GHz. It has an attenuation range of 48 dB with a step size of 16 dB and an attenuation accuracy of ±0.50 dB. This attenuator can handle an input power of up to 33 dBm and has an insertion loss of less than 2.9 dB. It has a rise/fall time switching of 20 ns and an on-time/off-time switching of 50 ns. This attenuator features parallel mode control and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-/low voltage transistor to transistor logic (LVTTL)-compatible controls. It requires a dual DC supply of +3.3 V and −3.3 V and consumes 230 μA (positive supply) & 500 μA (negative supply) of current. This attenuator can also operate with a single positive supply voltage (VDD) when the negative supply voltage (VSS) is tied to the ground.
The ADRF5716 is available in an LGA package that measures 3 x 3 mm and is ideal for industrial scanners, test & instrumentation, cellular infrastructure: 5G millimeter wave, military radios, radars, electronic countermeasures (ECMs), microwave radios and very small aperture terminals (VSATs) applications.
