The CMD280C3 is a wideband GaAs MMIC 5-bit digital attenuator that operates from DC to 18 GHz (L, S, C, X, Ku Band). Each bit of the attenuator is controlled by a single voltage of either 0 V or -5 V. The attenuator bit values are 0.5 (LSB), 1, 2, 4, and 8 dB, for a total attenuation of 15.5 dB with an attenuation accuracy of 0.1 dB. It has a low insertion loss of 3 dB at 9 GHz and can handle an input power of up to 24 dBm. The CMD280C3 is available in a 3 x 3mm QFN surface mount package and is matched to 50 ohms which eliminate the need for RF port matching.
