The SC1240AR3 from Socionext is a RADAR Sensor that operates from 57.1 to 63.9 GHz. It has a built-in range-finding and 3D angle-calculating signal processing circuit. The sensor is suited for 1D to 3D sensing and has 1 Tx and 2 x 2 Rx antennas which detect azimuth/elevation angle, velocity, and distance. It is equipped with high-precision wide band FMCW chirp sensing and built-in signal processing circuits that utilize 60 GHz ISM frequencies. This sensor integrates a signal processing unit (Distance/Angle/Presence detection), antennas, radio, ADC, FIFO, and SPI interface, with a self-boot function. It has 4 levels of operation states (Shutdown, Deep Sleep, Light Sleep, and Sensing) and also features an intelligent power control sequencer managing flexible duty cycle operation. This RADAR sensor is available in a surface-mount BGA package that measures 4 x 7 mm.
