The OpenRANGE28 Air5G 7200 from Airspan is a vRAN Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) to enable mmWave mobile broadband. It supports a channel bandwidth of up to 800 MHz and has a Radio Unit (RU) and a Distributed Unit (DU). This RDU has an integrated Massive MIMO antenna array of 128 x 128 to offer wide coverage and higher network efficiency. The Massive MIMO antenna array supports hybrid beamforming with advanced beam management capabilities, including on-the-fly adaptation of beams via complemented RIC algorithms, based on specific deployment conditions. It supports features such as network slicing, network monitoring, and healing.
The OpenRANGE28 Air5G 7200 has a compact design, making it suitable for rapid deployments in urban, dense, and rural areas. This unit is ready for multi-sector deployment using a protected daisy chain interface.
