The RI8596 from Roos Instruments is a single-slot RF Receiver that operates from 100 kHz to 24 GHz. It has a sample rate of 80 Msps and a dynamic range of more than 100 dB. This receiver incorporates Roos’ SyRF Core technology and has a versatile RF front-end, integrated LO, frequency down conversion, and baseband DSP. It has high-linearity mixers, a selectable analog filter bank, and an embedded FPGA behind dual ADCs with real-time DSP for vector/spectral analysis, digital filtering, demodulation, and user-defined signal processing. It can measure absolute power, phase, noise figure, and S-parameters.
The RI8596 features multiple RF ports that interface with Cassini’s Test Set instruments to extend the measurement range up to 90 GHz with precision vector calibration and error correction. It has a power range of -100 dBm to +10 dBm and a frequency lock of 100 μs. This receiver has a selectable baseband analog bandwidth of 7 kHz, 200 kHz, or 5 MHz and a noise floor of -155 dBm/Hz. It is ideal for radio systems, multi-band modules, MMICs, and RFIC applications.
