The Si4704 from Silicon Labs is an FM Radio Receiver IC that supports worldwide FM bands from 64 to 108 MHz with advanced FM seek tuning. This IC integrates the complete tuner function from antenna input to digital audio output, enabling a cost-efficient digital audio platform for consumer electronic applications with high TDMA noise immunity, superior radio performance, and high fidelity audio power amplification. It has excellent overload immunity and adaptive noise suppression with volume control. The device requires a DC supply from 2.7 to 5.5 V and supports 2-wire and 3-wire control interfaces. It can also reduce total system power consumption by avoiding unnecessary ADC/DAC conversions between the FM receiver and the host processor. The device is available in a 24-pin QFN package that measures 3 x 3 mm. It can be used in cellular handsets, USB FM radio, portable navigation, MP3 players, PDAs, portable radios, and notebook PCs.
