The WS2116-A0 from Jorjin Technologies is a Sigfox-Certified (sub-1 GHz) and dual-mode Bluetooth LE (5.0) Module with an integrated power amplifier. This module has an in-built STM S2-LP transceiver and a BlueNRG-2 chipset. It is based on a global roaming “Monarch” module and supports Sigfox RCZ1 to RCZ6 bands. The module consumes very low active RF and MCU current and provides an excellent battery life. The module has an in-built DC-DC Converter and requires a DC supply of 1.8-3.6V for operation. It can operate on a small coin cell battery and is ideal for use in energy-harvesting applications.
The module has a BLE RF output power of 8 dBm with an excellent receiver sensitivity of up to -88 dBm. It supports master-slave and multiple role configurations with LE data packet length extension. The module has an ultra-low-power Cortex-M0 32-bit based architecture core that supports multiple interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, 10-bit ADC, and 26 GPIO pins for I/O communication.
The WS2116-A0 is available in a stamp-hole package with 54 pins and measures 22 x 22 x 2.8 mm. It is ideal for Asset tracking, Energy Harvesting, and Smart sensing applications and has a wide operating temperature range from -40 °C to +85 °C.
