The Type 1RM from Murata is an ultra-small implantable radio MICS (Medical Implant Communication Service) module for medical applications that operates from 402 to 405 MHz. It is designed for use in devices with data-intensive wireless capabilities that are used to diagnose, monitor, report, and provide warnings in support of human life, typical applications include insulin, drug, and baclofen pumps, as well as arrhythmia and bladder monitors. This module has a high data rate of 128 kbps, delivers a programmable output power of up to 7 dBm and supports communication up to a distance of 2 meters. It has a receiver sensitivity of -92 dBm @ 250 KBaud, 1% packet error rate and consumes only 0.2uA of current in the sleep state. The Type 1RM is available in a surface mount package that measures 8.6 x 5.6 x 1.7 mm.
