The CC660D-LS from Quectel is an NTN Satellite Communications Module. It supports the 3GPP Release 17 standard (IoT-NTN) in the L-band (B255) and S-band (B256/23) for satellite communication. This module offers a low-profile and compact size that makes it easy to embed into space-constrained applications and provides reliable connectivity. It delivers a data rate of 5.8 kbps (15 kHz sub-carrier) and 2.7 kbps (3.75 kHz sub-carrier) in the uplink while in the downlink, it delivers a data rate of 8.3 kbps and 8.6 kbps (over 15 kHz sub-carrier).
The module provides a transmit power of 23 dBm and has a receiver sensitivity of -114 dBm. It requires a DC supply from 2.2 to 3.6 V and consumes 3.4 µA (deep sleep) and 36 mA (Tx mode) of current. The CC660D-LS is available in a surface-mount package (LCC + LGA) that measures 17.7 x 15.8 x 2.0 mm and is ideal for power grid, pipe and infrastructure management, maritime, messaging, emergency services, and logistics tracking applications.
The CC660D-LS complies with CE, FCC, RCM, and IC regulations to enable global connectivity over a single-tone/multi-tone carrier transmission. It includes support for internet protocols such as IPv4, UDP, NIDD, and DNS and utilizes PDU mode to provide SMS services between point-to-point MO and MT links. This module offers a rich set of interfaces such as USIM, RI, ADC, USB, PWRKEY, PSM_EINT, and UART for firmware upgrades and remote configuration using Quectel’s enhanced AT commands.
