The STM32WL5MOC from STMicroelectronics is an LPWAN Module that operates from 864 to 928 MHz. It incorporates a multiprotocol LPWAN 32-bit ArmCortex-M4/M0 core, a sub-GHz radio transceiver, 32 MHz radio TCXO and 32 kHz RTC crystals. This module supports LoRa, (G)FSK, (G)MSK and BPSK modulations and is compatible with standardized or proprietary protocols such as LoRaWAN, Sigfox, or W-MBus (fully open wireless system-on-chip mioty). It complies with radio frequency regulations such as ETSI EN 300 220, FCC CFR 47 Part 15, and Japanese ARIB STD- T-108. This module requires a DC supply from 1.8 to 3.6 V and consumes less than 111 mA of current.
The STM32WL5MOC delivers a Tx output power of up to +22 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of up to -148 dBm. It can be controlled via SPI, I2S, I2C, USART and LPUART interfaces. This module is available in an LGA92 package that measures 10 x 10 x mm and is ideal for high-power LoRa radio and PA with long-range communication, reducing gateway requirements and infrastructure costs.
