The BMD-330 from u-blox is a Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy Module with a 200 m range. It is based on the Nordic Semiconductor nRF52810 SoC with an integrated ARM Cortex-M4F 32-bit processor and supports a data rate of up to 2 Mbps. The module delivers a Tx power of up to 4 dBm and has an Rx sensitivity of -96 dBm. It requires a DC supply of 1.7-3.6 V and consumes under 15.4 mA of current in Tx mode and less than 10 mA of current in Rx mode.
The BMD-330 can be controlled via SPI Master/Slave, UART, Two-Wire Master/Slave (I2C), GPIO, PWM and PDM interfaces. It supports serial wire debug (SWD) and has 32-bit Timers & 24-bit Real Time Counters (RTC). The module is available in a package that measures 14 x 9.8 x 1.9 mm with an antenna interface and is ideal for beacons (iBeacon™, Eddystone, AltBeacon, etc.), low-power sensors, fitness devices, wearables, climate control, lighting, safety and security, home appliances, access control, internet of things, home health care, advanced remote controls, smart energy management, low-power sensor networks, interactive entertainment, key fobs, environmental monitoring, hotel automation and office automation applications.
