The Echo 5G 28 GHz Repeater from Pivotal is the world’s first and only on-glass Beamforming Repeater that operates from 27.5 to 28.35 GHz. It is designed to counteract signal loss caused by glass windows at millimeter wave frequencies. The Echo 5G uses Pivotal’s patented Holographic Beam Forming (HBF) to provide Gigabit speeds beyond the reach of cable and DSL.
The repeater overcomes glass penetration loss by adding up to 30 dB to the mmWave link budget and overcomes reflection loss by scanning to near horizon in azimuth. It provides a narrow and steerable beam towards gNB, wide static beam towards indoor CPE/UE and enables Gbps service indoors at distances up to 1 kilometre from the base station. This module is compatible with 5G TF, 5G NSA EN-DC and 5GNR SA. It also features a cloud based remote OA&M and optimization functions via LTE Cat M1 remote connectivity.
The Echo 5G delivers up to 55 dB of electrical gain and consumes less than 36 W of power. The outdoor unit can be wirelessly powered through the window and the indoor unit can be powered with a wireless power module or AC adapter interface. The repeater measures 7.0 x 7.0 x 1.5 inches and is IP54 rated for ODU and IP32 rated for IDU. Echo-5G accommodates all 3GPP-compliant bandwidth configurations and supports FCC, UL repeater designations.
