The SM200B from Signal Hound is a high-performance RF spectrum analyzer and monitoring receiver that operates from 100 kHz to 20 GHz. The analyzer has 160 MHz instantaneous bandwidth (IBW) calibrated I/Q capture, available through block transfer of a 2-second I/Q buffer over USB 3.0 to the PC. This added 2-seconds of segmented I/Q capture memory, with advanced triggering options such as frequency mask triggering (FMT) plus user-specified pre and post-trigger, satisfies the ever-increasing analysis bandwidth demands of the wireless industry. This allows the device to be used for 5G, and radar applications.
The SM200B has a dynamic range of 110 dB, 1THz/sec sweep speed at 30 kHz RBW (using Nuttall windowing), and phase noise performance that is low enough to contribute less than 0.1% error to EVM measurements and rival even the most expensive spectrum analyzers on the market.
This real time spectrum analyzer can be controlled by any computer via USB. Signal Hound provides a software called Spike which can be used to control it.
