The M980 from idTronic is an 8-Channel Embedded NFC RFID Reader that operates at 13.56 MHz (HF). It has been developed for integration into check-in counters, libraries, retail, or shelving systems. This RFID reader incorporates idTronic’s M900 IC, NXP’s CLRC633 NFC front-end, a cutting-edge microcontroller, and the latest HF transceiver technology, allowing users to read and write 13.56 MHz transponders at a distance of up to 10 cm. It offers several benefits such as real-time visibility & traceability of items, quick changeovers & setup times, and enhanced quality control, thereby providing a more efficient and responsive manufacturing environment.
The M980 also has an integrated multiplexer that allows each and every antenna channel to be individually activated and configured to read HF/NFC tags according to the parameters of the application. It includes an RS-485 interface to provide networking of nodes in a daisy-chain for faster and consistent reading of the tags in a crowded environment. This reader module is equipped with SDK for the development of the controller in Linux or Windows OS. It requires a DC supply from 7 to 24 V and consumes less than 2 mA of current (standby mode). This reader is available in a module that measures 48.0 x 65.0 x 9.7 mm and has U.FL connectors.
