The R13071C from CAEN RFID is a RAIN RFID Sled Reader that is ideal for long-range reading applications. It operates from 865.6 to 867.6 MHz (ETSI) and 902-928 MHz (FCC), delivers an output power of up to 1 W, and can detect tags over a read range of up to 5 m. This reader is based on the Impinj E710 IC chip that supports fast reading speeds and can be used in dense reader and tag environments. It requires a DC supply of 3.7/5 V, consumes 2 A of current, and includes a rechargeable battery that can operate either in wired mode using a USB type-C cable, or wireless mode via a BLE/Bluetooth interface (Bluetooth 4.2 Smart Ready compliant).
The R13071C has an integrated Bluetooth interface that allows it to be interfaced with any Bluetooth-enabled host such as a PC, smartphone, PDA, or tablet for RAIN RFID readings. It also supports both Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and Bluetooth classic communication to provide maximum usage flexibility, including the HID profile for keyboard emulation. This reader integrates an SP-Connect SPC+ mounting adapter to easily fix a wide range of smartphones with dedicated phone cases and embeds a wireless charging transmitter to charge the smartphone without the need to detach it from the reader. It utilizes 4 channels (ETSI) and 50 hopping channels (FCC) for communication and has a receiver sensitivity of -85 dBm (10% PER). This IP65-rated RFID reader measures 151 x 150 x 72 mm and is ideal for warehouse management, mobile workers, shop inventory, cycle mounting, and RAIN RFID add-on applications.
