The IronTag from HID Global are RAIN RFID Tags that operate in the UHF Band from 865-868 MHz (ETSI) and 865-928 MHz (Global). They are based on Impinj’s Monza X chip that has a user memory of 8192 bits, an EPC memory of 128 bits, and a TID memory of 96 bits. These UHF transponders deliver excellent performance on metal surfaces, and are built to withstand vibration, shock, chemical exposure, and fluctuating temperatures. They enable radio frequency identification (RFID) tagging of metal equipment and components that are subject to severe conditions. These tags have a high size-to-performance ratio and can reliably read/written when mounted on metal objects at distances of up to 2.5 m (8.2 ft). They are waterproof, can resist high pressure/temperature washing, and withstand exposure to fuels, oils, salt water, and UV light and deliver the highest flame resistance rating available.
The IronTag is equipped with anti-collision technology in the UHF band that enables fast data rate communication. They operate based on the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 network protocol. These tags include patent-pending designs that meet standards for the most demanding industries, including aircraft manufacturing and fleet management. They integrate flanges on two sides and have pre-drilled holes, enabling additional secure fixation options via clamps or screws. These RFID tags are available in PPS-adhesive-backed housing that measures 1.32 x 1.22 x 0.24 inches and are ideal for asset tracking, logistics, automation, and manufacturing applications.
