XTD-500KaL-EN1 Image

The XTD-500KaL-EN1 from Comtech is a Ka-Band Antenna Mount TWT Power Amplifier that operates from 27 to 29.5 GHz. The amplifier delivers a linear output power of 166 W, a rated output power of 250 W, and a TWT power of 500 W. It provides a gain of 70 dB with an attenuation range of 30 dB an step size of 0.1 dB. The amplifier is based on Comtech’s proprietary technology and has an automatic bias control system that extends TWT life by maintaining a constant beam current over time. It has a precise system for matching linearizer performance to a specific tube over a wide range of operating conditions maximizing useable linear power. The amplifier can be used for Satcom and data link applications.

The XTD-500KaL-EN1 consists of a linearizer and has internal 1:1 and 1:2 switch control configurations capable of driving an input and output switch for redundancy. It has a linear intermodulation of under -26 dBc and harmonics of -60 dBc. The amplifier supports RS-232/422/485 and ethernet interfaces. It is available in a rackmount enclosure that measures 22.25 x 9.50 x 10.25 Inches. The amplifier requires an AC supply of 90-264 V and consumes 1400 VA of power.
