The ThinAir GT 1717 from ThinKom is a SATCOM Antenna that operates from 17.7 to 21.2 GHz (Rx) and 27.5 to 31 GHz (Tx). It has been developed to operate on commercial and government networks, including LEO, MEO, GEO, and HEO constellations. This antenna ensures a low probability of intercept/detection and features inherent anti-jam robustness to operate in demanding EMI, EMC, and EMP environments. It provides a continuous 360° azimuth coverage and an elevation coverage from +10° to +90° with a beam agility of more than 250°/sec. It has a switchable circular (co/orthogonal) polarization with a simultaneous dual-pol mode and has an axial ratio of 1.5 dB. This antenna incorporates ThinKom’s patented VICTS technology to provide excellent performance while maintaining an optimal SWaP profile.
The ThinAir GT 1717 supports data rates of up to 500 Mbps (downlink) and 200 Mbps (uplink) and has a network efficiency of up to 4 bits/Hz. It is available in an enclosure that measures 2.0 x 0.9 x 0.2 m and complies with RTCA/D0-160G environmental standards. This antenna can be fuselage-mounted and has smaller terminal options for UAVs, and cavity-mount versions. These conformal designs deliver full system performance while mounted below the fuselage surface, eliminating incremental drag.
