The MPT 87 from Orbit Communication Systems is a Multi-Purpose VSAT Terminal that operates in Ku-Band from 13.75-14.5 GHz (Tx)/10.95-12.75 GHz (Rx) and in the Ka-Band from 29-31 GHz (Tx)/19.2-21.2 GHz (Rx). It delivers high-quality broadband communications via satellite across a range of airborne platforms. This terminal provides excellent RF performance and dynamic response anytime and anywhere for military and government airborne SATCOM markets. It has a G/T ratio of 17 (Ku-Band)/18.8 dB/K (Ka-Band) and provides a signal tracking accuracy of better than 0.15 dB (RMS). This VSAT uses a built-in receiver or third-party RSSI source to track RF signals and supports continuous cable-less polarization compensation for Ku-Band.
This MPT 87 also ensures low to no insertion loss in the block up converter (BUC) to antenna signal path. It can be controlled using Ethernet, serial, or ARINC429 interfaces. This linearly/circularly polarized VSAT terminal has an azimuth beamwidth of 360° and an elevation beamwidth from 0° to 90°. It complies with stringent environmental regulations and military standards.
