The GAT-5510 from Viasat is a SATCOM Terminal that operates from 17.7 to 21.2 GHz (Rx) and 27.5 to 31.0 GHz (Tx). It is designed for large-cabin aircraft and enables broadband in-flight connectivity services for business jets and government users on Viasat’s high-capacity satellite network. This terminal has a parabolic reflector. Each terminal is made up of a 2-axis steerable 2-way Ka-band antenna with an integrated ACU, an antenna power supply unit, and a modem. This terminal can be easily integrated into an aircraft with a tail, fuselage, or hatch-mounted antenna and onboard modem for a wide variety of in-flight applications and missions. It can operate on the full ITU Ka-band spectrum with all polarizations and is an ideal choice for manned and unmanned aircraft.
The GAT-5510 enables access to the highest capacity Ka-band satellites and operates on Viasat’s Hybrid Adaptive Network including partner and US government Ka-band constellations. It will work with the enhanced satellite technology of tomorrow (ViaSat-3), a global constellation of 1 Tbps Ka-band satellites, to provide in-flight internet services. This terminal provides an elevation coverage from 0° to 90° and an azimuth coverage from 0° to 360°. It requires can operate on AC (115 V) or DC (28 V) supply. This SATCOM terminal is available in an enclosure that measures 31.7 (Dia.) x 33.3 (H) cm and has RTCA/DO-160G environmental/EMC qualifications.
