The TR400 from ReliaSat is a K/Ka-Band Downlink Transceiver module with an Rx frequency from 27 to 30 GHz and a Tx frequency from 17 to 21 GHz. It is a fully integrated standalone transceiver solution that operates as a wideband up/down-converter making it suitable for use in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) systems. This transceiver can either be used as a standalone up/down-converter or combined with a modem/software-defined radio (SDR), thereby enabling a fully functional K/Ka-band satellite communication system. It also includes a high-precision clock to generate LO signals and can be used as a reference for other sub-modules or lock-on to an external system reference.
On the Tx side, it delivers a linear output power of 20 dBm with a gain of 23-27 dB and has a phase noise of -123 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset. On the Rx side, this transceiver provides a gain of 30 dB, has a noise figure of less than 2.5 dB, and a phase noise of -112 dBc/Hz at a 1 MHz offset. It requires a DC supply of 12 V and consumes less than 6 W of power. This downlink transceiver is available in an enclosure that measures 96 x 91 x 33 mm with an SMPM edge mount connector. It is ideal for high-speed data communications, space communications, IoT, security, and 5G applications.
