The QSS-131000 from Atlantic Microwave is a Quad Band Satellite Simulator System that is designed to provide a loop-back test for multiple bands and ground stations. It makes testing multiple frequencies easier and provides time savings as up to four ground terminals can be tested at the same time, rather than having to set-up individual systems for each one.
The simulator converts input frequencies in the C-Band (5.850 to 6.425 GHz), X-Band (7.90 to 8.40 GHz), Ku-Band (14.00 to 14.50 GHz) and Ka-Band (30.00 to 31.00 GHz) to output frequencies in the C-Band (3.625 to 4.200 GHz), X-Band (7.250 to 7.750 GHz), Ku-Band (10.950 to 12.750 GHz) and Ka-Band (20.200 to 21.200 GHz). It has an LO step size of 25 MHz with an LO stability of ±0.05 ppm (from -10°C to +50°C) and a 10 MHz internal reference. The Tx antenna is left-hand circular polarized, Rx antenna is right-hand circular polarized, and both provide a nominal gain of 5 dB (C and X Band) and 15 dB (Ku and Ka Band). It provides an attenuation from 0 to 60 dB with 1 dB step size.
The QSS-131000 is available in an IP65-rated enclosure that measures 400 x 310 x 180 mm and supports control and monitoring over Ethernet. It can be used for several applications and markets including ground terminals, VSAT Testing, Bent-Pipe testing Mobile Ground Terminals, integration, EMI testing, telemetry and airborne monitoring receiving systems. The simulator requires an AC supply voltage from 90 to 240 V.
