The Rainford Standard Test Cell (RSTC) from MVG is a Shielded Test Cell that operates from 10 kHz to 20 GHz. It has been designed for testing small DUTs. The cell measures 0.5 m x 0.5 m x 0.5 m and provides up to 100 dB of shielding. The main body of the unit is constructed from a 2 mm thick steel tray that can be either bolted with a TCS gasket or welded. It uses a unique hybrid absorber design, which requires less volumetric space than traditional absorbers. The RSTC is designed for R&D, production, and quality control environments where space is critical.
The RSTC uses SmartShield technology, that is used in MVG’s larger high-end shielded rooms, to provide protection and isolation from the surrounding RF environment. With the addition of ferrite and absorber materials, low reflections and stable quiet zones are achievable. It is available with N-type and BNC connectors. The RSTC provides an ideal environment for testing wireless devices for GSM, UMTS, CDMA, Bluetooth, DECT, W-LAN, Zigbee, RFID, WiMAX, etc.
