The MBX-02 is a mmWave mini-chamber specially designed for mmWave over-the-air (OTA) measurements from 18 to 95 GHz. This mini-chamber fits on a 6ft lab bench. It is suited for far-field measurements up to 79 cm and provides shielding of 50 dB at normal incidence. This chamber has 2 instrument bays to place a Spectrum Analyzer or Vector Network Analyzer on one side and a Signal Generator or baseband board on the other side below measurement deck. The MBX-02 is ideal for 24 GHz radar, 5G NR mm-Wave, 802.11ad, 802.11ay and automotive radar applications.
The Device Under Test is mounted on a laser-guided 3D gimbal rotating platform. The 3D gimbal is controlled via a simple USB connection with open source software (source provided) containing all the functions and an API to run and plot a full spherical (or partial) radiation pattern graph with up to 1-degree resolution (64000 points). The output of the plot is time-stamped with Comma Separated Values (.csv) which can be used to create a heat-map file. This heat-map file can then be post-processed for graphic rendering with any mathematics or graphics tool.
