The R&S SFI100A from Rohde & Schwarz is an IF Vector Signal Generator (VSG) that operates from 11 to 21 GHz. It can deliver an output power from -90 dBm to +10 dBm with a power resolution of 0.01 dB and a frequency step size of 0.001 Hz. This signal generator satisfies the bandwidth requirements of demanding applications such as early 6G research, mmWave WLAN, and automotive radar. It provides a very wide RF modulation bandwidth of up to 10 GHz and generates fully calibrated RF signals. This VSG enables sub-THz testing with unparalleled performance and control for streamlined measurements. It has harmonic levels of less than -30 dBc and SSB phase noise of up to -120 dBc.
This R&S SFI100A offers wideband single-ended, differential, and direct DAC analog I/O signals for baseband tests with high signal quality up to 5 GHz and up to 2 V (Vpp). It can seamlessly connect to RF front-ends, and the setup can also be extended to cables and connected smart accessories such as bandpass filters and power amplifiers, reducing measurement uncertainty. This signal generator supports digital modulation signals such FSK, BPSK, QPSK, QPSK EDGE, and 16/32/64/128/256/1024/4096 QAM.
This signal generator can be remotely controlled using Ethernet and LAN interfaces with built-in SCPI command sets. It also provides code templates to directly generate MATLAB, CVI, or Python executable codes. This VSG can be easily upgraded on-site with additional capabilities via software keycodes. It requires an AC supply from 100 to 240 V and consumes less than 2 W of power. This R&S SFI100A is available in a 2U rack-mount enclosure that measures 445 x 85 x 412 mm and has 2.92 mm (female) connectors.
