The LMS-183CX from Vaunix is a USB Programmable RF Signal Generator that operates from 6 to 18 GHz. It has a resolution of 100 Hz and switching time of 0.02 ms. The signal generator provides calibrated power control from -70 dBm to 10 dBm (80 dB dynamic range) in 0.5 dB steps. It has a phase noise of better than -130 dBc/Hz at 6 GHz, spurious levels of lower than -55 dBc and harmonics of less than -35 dBc.
This USB powered and programmed Lab Brick signal generator has an easy to use Graphical User Interface (GUI) that can be used to conduct fixed frequency operation, unidirectional or bidirectional frequency sweeps, and pulse and chirp modulation. Lab Bricks use a native USB HID interface to avoid the difficulties inherent in using older serial or IEEE-488 interfaces implemented over USB.
For users who want to develop their own interface or control the device directly, Vaunix supplies LabVIEW drivers, Windows API DLL files, Linux drivers, Python examples and much more. This signal generator is available as a compact module that measures 4.90 x 3.14 x 1.59 inches and has SMA female connectors. It is ideal for Automated Test Equipment (ATE), Engineering/Production Test Labs and radar receiver system applications.
