The HF-9500 from Collins Aerospace is a HF Communication System that is suitable for airborne applications. It features digital signal processing technology that delivers high-quality, reliable performance for military fixed-wing airborne applications. This system delivers an output power of 400 W and is designed to use a common suite of hardware and software components that meet Open Systems Architecture (OSA) and HF modernization requirements. This system is a software-defined replacement for ARC-190 models and is backwards compatible with legacy software and hardware.
The HF-9500 provides data communications capability over HF to modems, video imaging systems, secure voice devices, teletype and data encryption devices. It quickly and easily integrates into the legacy system using the existing ancillaries and aircraft control systems without requiring any aircraft modifications. This system supports single sideband (SSB) operation and provides full Simultaneous Operations (SIMOP) filtering capability. It can be used with various antenna types and configurations. This system includes Ethernet and USB interfaces and supports Type-3 AES-256 encryption.
