The Matchstiq Z3u from Epiq Solutions is a Dual-Channel Software Defined Radio (SDR) that operates from 45 MHz to 6 GHz. It combines an RF front-end with integrated pre-select filters, Zynq UltraScale+ MPSOC (CPU + FPGA), RFIC, memory units (2 GB RAM + 128 GB eMMC with microSD card slot), PLL, TCVCXO, DAC, internal and external interfaces, power supplies, status indicators, switches, and antennas. This field-ready complete platform delivers a fully integrated RF transceiver with a signal processing solution in the smallest possible form factor, making it ideal for on-the-go signal processing applications. It requires a DC supply of 7-17 V and consumes less than 4.5 W of power.
The Matchstiq Z3u can execute signal processing applications either locally on the AMD Zynq UltraScale+ System-on-Chip (SoC) or on a host platform integrated via a USB 3.0 interface to execute applications on the host. It supports 2-channel phase coherent Rx mode or 1 Tx + 1 Rx independent mode and is equipped with a rich set of interfaces such as USB, GPIO, JTAG, and serial console access for remote configuration on Linux OS. This SDR also supports GPS receiver module with 99 search and 33 simultaneous tracking channels, and has a tracking sensitivity of -165 dBm. It also has a GPS disciplined oscillator for accurate GPS signal locking.
This low SWaP SDR platform delivers an output power of +13 dBm with a gain of 89 dB on the Tx side while on the Rx side, it provides a gain of 76 dB and has a noise figure of less than 8 dB. It can communicate over a channel bandwidth of up to 56 MHz. It is available in a module that measures 3.64 x 2.74 x 0.75 inches.
