The Sidekiq™ VPX400 from Epiq Solutions is a Multi-Channel, Phase-Coherent RF Transceiver that operates from 1 MHz to 6 GHz. It supports 4 phase-coherent channels with an instant bandwidth (IBW) of 200 MHz or 2 phase-coherent channels which are independently tunable at 450 MHz. This transceiver aligns with the SOSA™ technical standard for rapid adaptability and supports VITA 67.3 for RF I/O through the backplane. It enables rapid development of converged SIGINT/EW platforms while reducing slot count requirements, power consumption, and engineering-related cost. The transceiver is a complete antenna-to-bits, multi-channel, phase-coherent solution and consumes less than 40 W of power.
In the Rx chain, this transceiver includes a 16-bit A/D converter with a sample rate of up to 245.76 Msamples/sec and has an RF tuning step size of less than 5 Hz. It has a noise figure of 8 dB and includes seven bandpass RF filters on each RF receiver. In the Tx chain, the transceiver includes a 14-bit D/A converter with a sampling rate of up to 245.76 Msamples/sec and has an RF tuning step size of less than 5 Hz. The Sidekiq™ VPX400 features a Xilinx® Zynq® UltraScale+™ MPSoC XCZU7EV system-on-chip with up to 32 GB SSD/4 GB of DDR4 RAM and Xilinx Kintex® Ultrascale™ XCKU115 FPGA. This transceiver is available in 3U VPX housing that measures 178.6 x 99.8 x 23.6 mm and supports both PCIe and 10/40 GbE interfaces.
