The Falcon III® RF-7850D from L3Harris is a Multi-Channel Modular Radio that operates from 30 to 2500 MHz. It enables users to choose either two simultaneous 30-512 MHz channels or an optional second channel for continuous coverage from 30 to 2500 MHz. This radio uses the TDMA Networking Waveform (TNW) family for simultaneous voice and data services over wideband, narrowband, and ECCM channels. It is designed for SWaP-reduced multi-channel communications for Tactical Vehicles and Tactical Operations Centers (TOC). When used in a vehicular application, this radio mount in a low-profile chassis is easy to install and concealed without interfering with vehicle navigation and passenger activity.
The RF-7850D requires a DC supply from 10 to 32 V and consumes less than 320 W of power. This radio supports up to 50 W of power output when paired with the L3Harris RF-410 Power Amplifier, providing advanced Autonomous and Radio Control modes for the entire waveform library. It includes the L3Harris Mission Module interface that supports the quick addition of a third networked, independent channel providing video ISR and custom capabilities — or a third channel for crossbanded networking.
The RF-7850D is interoperable with legacy Falcon® I and II® systems and is software-defined, ready to interface with next-generation waveforms and networking technology. It has common USB, Ethernet, WPAN, and GPS capabilities which provide access to advanced systems solutions through an easy-to-use interface. This radio is available in an enclosure that measures 7.1 x 26.4 x 23.4 cm and delivers high-speed MANET by land, sea, and air.
