The ADGM1001 from Analog Devices is an SPDT MEMS Switch that operates from DC to 34 GHz. It provides 32 dB of isolation, has a switching time (ON/OFF) of 200 μs, and a power-up time of 4 ms. This switch can handle an input power of up to 33 dBm and has an insertion loss of less than 1.5 dB. It is fabricated using Analog Devices’ micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) switch technology which enables a small form factor, wide RF bandwidth, highly linear, and low insertion loss that is operational down to DC. The switch has an integrated control chip that generates the high voltage necessary to electrostatically actuate the switch via a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS)-/low voltage transistor-transistor logic (LVTTL)-compatible parallel interface. It requires a DC supply of 3.3 V and consumes less than 200 mA of current.
The ADGM1001 can be controlled via an integrated 3.3 V driver for simple control with parallel and SPI interfaces. It is available in a 24-lead LGA module that measures 5.0 x 4.0 x 0.9 mm and is ideal for ATE load and probe boards, DC and high-speed loopback testing, relay replacements, reconfigurable filters and attenuators, military and microwave radios, cellular infrastructure (5G mmWave) applications. This switch is also suitable for digital standards such as PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6, USB 3/4, and PAM-4.
