The MD8430A is a signalling tester for LTE-Advanced chipsets. In has been designed for early chipset and UE development, function tests, and performance tests ranging from carrier acceptance to protocol conformance tests. It also supports fault operation tests, which are difficult to perform at connection with live base stations. The MD8430A has an integrated fading simulation feature which reduces the investment required for additional hardware to perform signalling tests under realistic radio frequency (RF) conditions. This is the first LTE-Advanced signalling solution with built-in fading supporting the 4x4 MIMO downlink configuration.
