The RN91xx from Rolling Wireless is an Automotive-Grade Release-15 5G Module that supports sub-6 GHz 5G bands, LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD, WCDMA and 2G. It supports SA/NSA network architectures and provides optional C-V2X (modem) and DSDA features. The module is based on a Qualcomm SA515M chipset and has dedicated flash and RAM which enhances security, reduces system complexity and lowers overall cost. It delivers up to 2.4 Gbps download throughput and allows automotive OEMs to build a Linux-based connectivity and telematics control unit using a single module. The module provides multiple security features like secure boot, secures storage, integrity checks, access control and is UN-ECE WP29 ready. It also supports eCall.
The RN91xx covers worldwide networks with three regional variants (NA, EU and CHN-JP). It has multiple interfaces which include USB 3.1 Gen2/USB 2.0, UART (high speed), PCIe 3.0 (2 lanes), SPI, I2C and GPIO among others. The module has an operating temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. It is available in a package that measures 43 x 43 x 3.3 mm (5G only version) and 52 x 52 x 3.3 mm (5G+C-V2X/DSDA version).
