The STWBC86 from STMicroelectronics is a Monolithic Wireless Power Transmitter that is compatible with WPC Qi 1.2.4 specification. It delivers an output power of 5 W and supports robust ASK & FSK communication. This wireless power transmitter has a 32-bit, 64 MHz ARM Cortex micro-controller, 8 KB SRAM, 10-bit A/D converter, and on-chip current sense. It also has an integrated low-impedance half-bridge/full-bridge inverter to achieve high efficiency and low power dissipation. It requires a DC supply from 4.75 to 20 V and features a current limit and thermal protection. The transmitter has a power Tx reference design based on A11a topology and can be controlled via I2C and GPIO interfaces. It is available in a WLCSP72 package that measures 3.26 x 3.67 mm and is ideal for use in smartphone charging, medical electronics, smart wearables, and hearable charging applications.
