The BCM6726 from Broadcom is a 2.4/5/6 GHz WiFi-7 (802.11be) MAC/PHY/Radio Wireless SoC. This SoC consists of 4 Tx and 4 Rx streams and takes advantage of Multi-Link Operation (LMO) in addition to multi-user techniques such as OFDMA (downlink and uplink) and MU-MIMO (downlink and uplink) to deliver better throughput, lower latency, high reliability, and high-bandwidth concurrent multi-user data transfer to consumer devices in a home network. It delivers a data rate of up to 11.5 Gbps in the PHY layer with support for 4K QAM modulation and can selectively operate over a channel bandwidth of up to 160 MHz. It can be configured to be used in routers, residential gateways, Wi-Fi extenders, and Wi-Fi mesh configurations.
The BCM6726 utilizes Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) to sense the wireless channel, transmit, and receive packets without collisions from other devices in proximity. This SoC is equipped with comprehensive wireless network security support that includes WPA, WPA2, WPA3 (with 192-bit Suite B encryption), AES encryption/decryption, TKIP, and IEEE 802.1X support. It is ideal for Wi-Fi access points in residential areas, routers, repeaters, and service provider gateway applications.
